Recent Scientific Efforts in Australia Focus on Earth-Friendly Energy
Australia joins the ranks of industrialized nations seeking to end its dependence on carbon based energy sources. Scientists in Australia are now focusing their efforts on reducing its nation’s greenhouse emissions while developing more earth friendly energy technology. They want to find other energy sources than petroleum, coal, and other finite sources of energy that can damage the climate and landscape with its harvest and use.
Australian scientists are urging immediate action in developing this technology because the nation’s population continues to swell. In the next 45 years, the Australian population is expected to rise to over 35 million people. Scientists believe that it will become imperative for the nation to utilize renewable sources of energy and lessen the nation’s usage of carbon based energy sources like coal and petroleum.
Scientists are campaigning for the scientific community to focus their efforts on the nation’s renewable sources of energy, namely the wind, sun, and water. They are asking that the nation invest in wind farms, solar panels for private homes and businesses, and dams that will provide renewable energy without endangering Australia’s beautiful landscape and climate. These sources of energy stand to better sustain the nation’s population as well in comparison to carbon based energy.
Applied Science
Applied science is a branch of science, which involves application of the scientific knowledge to solve the practical problems. In simple terms it refers to the applying the fact, figures and discoveries of science to benefit the humanity. Basic science is dealt with industrial science and is vital for technical, technological inventions and developments. For instance, an examination on theoretical model. Applied science is the core part of the Research and Development department of any industry.
The major difference between science and applied science is the former deals with describing the objects, movements, forces, etc more on a theoretical concept, where the latter is the application of the theory into practical. It can be the biological science, physical science and natural science. Applied science is closely related with various engineering fields. Some of the popular fields of applied science include the applied engineering, applied mathematics, applied physics, applied linguistics, artificial intelligence, forensic science, fisheries science, nanotechnology, nuclear technology, etc.
