Christopher Heyde : Professor Christopher Heyde served as Professor Emeritus of Statistics at New York’s world famous Columbia University. Heyde also acted as Australian National University’s Foundation Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences

Chris spent the majority of his educational profession in the CSIRO, ANU, and Columbia College . He earned an impressive contribution to chance concept and its applications. He also had a long-lasting interest in the history of chance and stats.

As acknowledgment of Professor Heyde’s broad pursuits within the statistical sciences the honor is provided in a single of 3 areas on a revolving basis pure arithmetic ; applied, computing and money arithmetic ; and chance speculation, probabilistic system in addition to their applications.

The award’s purpose is to recognize distinguished research in the mathematical sciences by an analyst only forty years old in the calendar year of proposal, apart from in the case of important interruptions to a research career.
